When will the LG G7 be released?
We expect the LG G7 to be released on February 2018. Both LG G6 and LG G5 were launched at MWC Barcelona so we expect LG to follow the trend. More specifically the date should be Sunday, 25th of February, 2018.
Will the LG G7 have the latest Snapdragon 845 chip ?
LG G7 is rumored to be the first phone to get the Snapdragon 845 chip but is this the case? Stronger rumors suggest that initial 845 stock will be held for the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus. So this leaves other manufactures like LG in the cold. LG’s decision to push out the LG G series early in the year won’t give Qualcomm enough time to ramp up manufacturing to cover it’s Samsung contract and move to others. This is something LG is comfortable with and since the Snapdragon 835 is a powerful chip already it shouldn’t pose much problems to users. After all LG will be using the latest Snapdragon in it’s super flagship, the LG V40.
Will the LG G7 have a removable battery?
We know a lot of fans want this feature but unfortunately all signs are pointing towards a negative confirmation. LG decided to switch to non removable batteries with it’s last flagship the LG V30 and all signs are pointing towards LG keeping the same tactic for it’s next flagship the LG G7. So don’t expect a removable battery.
Will the LG G7 have an OLED screen?
LG seems to be going full on with OLED screens. We expect the LG G7 to have an OLED screen to keep on par with it’s rivals. The LG V30 already had an OLED screen which user’s loved and LG won’t be looking switch back to LCD for it’s flagships.Furthermore OLED is a requirement for Google Daydream support which is something LG won’t want to miss out. Expect an OLED screen on the LG G7.
Will the LG G7 have a fingerprint scanner?
LG has not shown any signs of stopping the use of fingerprint scanners and should continue so with the LG G7. The fingerprint sensor will be embedded on the backside of the LG G7 continuing the trend that LG itself has started. This also means there’s no rush for LG to jump on the 3D Face Scanner Camera feature that Apple has started with the iphone X and which a lot of users are not very excited to use.
